Maleece... my niece!

Maleece is 12 years old and has been taking the quilting class I have been teaching over at the ward. She came over on saturday and worked on her blocks and did a fantastic job. Here are four of her blocks.

I promised you a sneek peak of the quilt/pattern I am working on so here goes.. It isnt quite finished yet and I it turned out pretty big so I am going to include in the pattern a smaller version. Off to the quilter next Saturday.

Salt Lake half Marathon

Last weekend was the Salt Lake half marathon and Scott and Tyler ran it. We went to mile marker 8 and cheered them on as well as the other runners. It is our third year going and it is fun to see other people I know running. Here is a video of when they ran by us.

Ok, I just watched it and don't pay attention to the retard filing.. I need to learn to not say anyting.. oh well!!
Here we are waiting for them to come...

My brother Scott is getting ready to run the Ogden marathon in a 3 weeks and yesterday he ran from Copperton Park back in to his house in South Jordan and then out to our house. 21 miles...yuck!! Aubri and Danielle were waiting here to pick him up and when he came in, he said half way thru he said to himself, what the he!! am I doing! I decided to be adventurous and go to Walmart yesterday and after 5 minutes in the store, I was saying the same thing. I'm getting there but not quite up to walking in stores yet.

Happy Earth Day!

Can you believe I almost missed it!!! I had no idea until I looked at my calendar but today is Earth Day!!
In celebration of Earth Day, I think we should all take the day off from what ever keeps us busy and spend the day enjoying the earth!! :)

Quilting news!

I'm kind of excited yet nervous about this bit of news... I have been asked to teach a Community Education class starting in September in Riverton. I think I am going to start off with just a Beginner Quilting class for 6 weeks and see how it goes. I am by no means an expert so this should be interesting and fun.

My current quilt project is made with these really cute Aviary charm squares, prairie points and yo-yo's. It is going to be a pattern and I think it will turn out cute!! Stay tuned for a sneak peak..

Well, I havent posted about my ankle for a while so I thought I would catch up. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op and I think it is healing well. I am still using the skooter but can walk on it a bit. I decided I could walk on it alot yesterday and ended up paying for it. My ankle was swollen and hurt so I guess I have to slow down and only walk a little bit. I'm trying to be patient.

Everyone judged her from the moment she walked on stage. If you havent seen the Britian version of America's got talent and the story about Susan Boyle you need to see it. She is truely AMAZING!!

Just a few random pictures of my family at our Easter Egg Hunt. I apologize to most of the older kids because I didnt get them in many pictures since my gimpy leg didnt let me get out and chase them around. Oh well, Thayn will have to share pictures.

Peyton decided to tried to get a little saucy, "Worchestshire" sauce that is.

Easter memories..

I was thinking about Easter's past and the memories I have growing up. When I was younger, Sunday morning we would get up and find colored eggs and then our Easter Basket before heading off to church. With a large family like mine, it was bound to happen but two years in a row, the Easter Bunny forgot to hide "my" eggs. He hid everyone elses but missed mine. Aparently I put them in the door and "he/she" missed them. I can still recall some of the hiding places we use to find them in. We also never had grass in our basket, it was and will always be corn chips. Those were some fun times!!!
We had our annual Easter Party last night and the kids had so much fun finding the eggs outside. I'll post pictures soon.

2.5 weeks and counting...

Well, unfortuantley I still have stitches holding my incision closed. The Doc decided not to take them out yet because my foot was still swollen. Bleh!!

Oh well, I have been released to work 4-6 hours a day next week and "get" to ride around on my little knee scooter for a couple more weeks. He said after two more weeks no weight bearing, he will let me walk a bit but I will be in the boot for 6 weeks.

Finally, a few pictures..

One of my very best friends sent me these flowers and card... Thanks Karen, they really helped brighten up my room and help me feel better.

These flowers came from my work family. They were shared with everyone since one of the flowers was just too smelly to keep in my room.

I've finally gotten to the computer with my camera...believe me, it is a chore to get around. This is what my foot looked like when I came home from the Hospital. it was about 3 times my normal size.

This is my knee walker that I get to use for a few more weeks. yeah fun!!

This is what my foot looks like right now.. pretty huh!! I have 16 stitches and it is still a bit swollen.

Here is one of the quilts I worked on while I have been down.

Well, tomorrow it is back to work at least for 4 hours a day. Not too bad especially since I have been cleared to work part time for the first 4 hours of my shift from 7 am to 11 am. I am ready to go to work and get back in the swing of things.

My Family and expecially my Mother have been true lifesavers this past couple of weeks. My mom took great care of me and made sure I had what ever I needed. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! I LOVE you all very much.
