Summer time memories!!!

This time of year always brings back such fond memories of going on family vacations. The family vacations we went on when I was growing up never included places like Disneyland or Hawaii or some other exotic place. With 8 children, that was just not feasible. I do recall a trip to Canada for a week to visit with my cousins and going to Waterton Lake and thru Yellowstone. Since this was when I was about 8 or 9, it was a long time ago.
My most memorable family vacations were spent camping in the Uintas at places like Soapstone and Pine Valley. I LOVE camping. We also spent a lot of time down south in Goblin Valley, Dead Horse Point, Arches, Wellington, Price, Green River and Hanksville. Those were some good times!!
Hanksville is a joke because we spent about 10 hours one night “camped” out behind a gas station because our suburban broke down. We had to wait for my aunt Carma to get off work and then drive down and bring my dad a water pump for the car. It was incredibly hot and that ended our vacation.
I have a craving for some camping but will have to wait a few weeks for girls camp. Yeah!! As for Goblin Valley or Dead Horse Point, maybe later.

At last...

"Sew Into Quilts" has a few more patterns... I just picked up two of my quilts from the quilters ( Wendy at Eagle Mountain Quilts) and they look great. I am hoping to have this one in the shops ( Material Girls, Pine Needles, and Cotton Shop) in the next couple of weeks. I think I will probably wait another week since I will have two more quilts back next week and then I can get all 4 of them going.

Can you believe I did a Christmas one????? Some of the new fabric is soooo cute!!!!!

To Market...NOT!

Oh how I wish I was going to market. The National Quilt Market that is... It is held twice a year and is going on right now in Pittsburgh. It is for pattern vendors, fabric vendors, and everything else you could ever need in the quilting world. One of these days, I will be there.
I have a couple of quilt patterns coming out soon so stay tuned for a sneak peek. One is black and yellow and sooo simple but super cute... at least I think.

Worlds Greatest Mom!!

I have one of the worlds greatest moms. She is absolutely one of the most unselfish people I know. She loves her children and grandchildren unconditionally and never speaks an unkind word about another.

I have 5 other wonderful Mother figures in my family ( Lynette, Louann, Shelley, Alison, and Leeann ) Thanks for being such wonderful mothers to my neices and nephews.

I LOVE you all.

Nothing new...

Not much is going on with me, I am just working on walking without pain. Oh well, I am sure with time, it will come.

Last night our Stake was in charge of putting together a multi stake youth dance. Kelli rocked with her preparation!! I was on my feet ( remember I am only 6 weeks Post Op) quite a bit most of the night between decorating and then chaperoning with other great leaders. It was a lot of fun yet might I say weird!! The boys do not ask the girls to dance. Boys dance with boys (ok, not the slow songs), girls dance with girls, the rest of the time they stand in the middle of the floor and jump up and down. Their favorite time was when the DJ would play line dancing songs. All in all it was fun but long. My hips ( it's kind of hard walking with different height shoes on) and my feet have been revolting today so not much was done. I did manage to make a smaller version of my Aviary quilt from previous post.

Oh, I also taught our ward quilt class on Thursday which I thought was a flop but then I am my worst critic. I didnt create enough of my samples to show so needless to say if Susan and Rachel are able to figure out the pattern, they did it all on their own. Oh well, live and learn!!
